October 2023- The skies over Albuquerque, New Mexico, came alive with a symphony of lights during the first and second weekends of the world-renowned Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. The stars of the show? None other than the mesmerizing drone displays put on by Verge Aero in collaboration with our partners at Flylight Drone Shows.
Awe-Inspiring Drone Show Designs
A total of ten shows, both in the mornings and evenings, left audiences spellbound with their spectacular creations. The drone show designs were nothing short of breathtaking, capturing the spirit of New Mexico and the Balloon Fiesta in all their glory.
Among the standout designs were a stunning sugar skull with the iconic Zia symbol, a representation of the globe, a majestic buffalo, and the heartwarming sight of a hot air balloon being filled and gently lifting off the Earth's surface. The creativity didn't stop there – the shows also included multiple 3D balloons, the New Mexico flag, and beloved Looney Tunes characters such as the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, and Marvin Martian. And not to be left out the official state question: “Red or Green?” which the drone show answered as Christmas with a mixing of red and green chiles.
Scaling New Heights: 500 Verge Aero Drones
This year's performances featured an impressive 500 Verge Aero drones, a significant increase from the 300 drones showcased in 2022. This increase in drone count allowed for even more intricate and dazzling displays, lighting up the night sky with even more animations and 3D visuals leaving onlookers in awe.
A Second Year of Success
This year marked the second consecutive year of participation at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Demonstrating the power of innovation and the dedication of both organizations to delivering extraordinary experiences that the audience enthusiastically embraced.
